Virginia House of Delegates - District 8 Data
Well, District 8 has a couple of Democratic candidates stepping up to compete against Republican Greg Habeeb. This seat went uncontested in 2015. It is great to see people stepping up to challenge a seat like this.

- Residents = 80,010
- Active Registered Voters = 51,822
- Percent Registered = 65%
- Total Vote in Last District 8 Race = 17,386
- Participation Rate = 34%
- Total Vote for Republican last Race = 16,684
- Total Vote for Democrat last Race = 0
There are 4 localities in the district, Craig, Montgomery and Roanoke Counties as well as Salem City. Below is graph highlighting the vote for the Republican in each locality:
Looking at that, the biggest opportunity for Democrats within the district are within the Roanoke County and Salem City localities. This is a good thing since those two localities make up 71% of all registered voters within the district.
